Getting Started

Email manhattanbeachcommunitygardens@gmail.com to let us know that you are interested in a garden plot.  Our Membership Chair will arrange an orientation meeting with you at one of our garden sites to describe the program and provide an application packet.  You can also discuss your options for the garden plot size and preferred location. 

Our community gardens are located on three elementary school campuses within the Manhattan Beach Unified School District (MBUSD).  All gardeners need to be cleared by the MBUSD through a Live Scan (finger-printing) process performed by district staff.  The clearance process involves a small fee paid to MBUSD and a couple of weeks time.  MBUSD notifies us when you are approved and then you are ready to plant!​​​​
